Merry, Merry Monday! Apparently I really took all that business about embracing change to heart last week; over the next few weeks you are going to see some very cool changes at the studio. Read on for details…

Pardon Our Dust!

We’ve got a bit of a mess going on in the halls this week! By the time we start our upcoming JOY session on 4/4 we’ll have a brand spankin’ new (additional) pole studio ready for you! Half of Studio Fleur is being converted to a pole studio, and the other half is going to become a snazzy little place I’ll tell you about later. ;> Plus, Chez MiE is going to be converted to our new Studio Jolie where we’ll now host our make-up lessons, hair styling lessons, wardrobe and image lessons. To round things off, Studio Vivant will be reset as our personal training studio where we can offer both personal fitness training (TRX, Pilates & more) and 1:1 dance lessons (pole, lap, tap, you name it!). In case you didn’t already know it, we do also have La Cuisine in the back – a full kitchen where you will start seeing more along the lines of cooking lessons (see our April First Thursday workshops for a good one!) becoming available. So much fun!

Pole Class Mantras & Intentions Oh My!

In our pole class each week we get to “set an intention” (dedicate the energy we create with our workout toward a goal or committment) and to practice a self-love mantra. As you know, we always provide one for you but you can also use the opportunity to choose one that fits just right for you and use it instead. This week, I want to hear from you – what are your favorite intentions & mantras? I’ll pick my favorites that get turned in and use them in class! So, tell me yours. : ) Thanks!

JOY Pole Schedule Opens Weds – Early Bird Pricing thru 3/24

No sooner do we start one thing that it’s time to start planning for the next… life can be funny like that! But, in the case of pole classes it’s important to take a look at the schedule and get your next level planned out so you can get the day/time that works well for you.

The pole schedule for our JOY session (4/4 – 5/15) will be live online by this Wednesday and is listed down the left column of this e-mail. For those of you that have been with MiE for a while, you know you need to put down your deposit and get your spot or you just might get locked out of your favorite class time. For those of you that are new, be thinking about it soon if your schedule is at all tricky (ie: I have 7 full level 1 classes and only 4 level 2 classes).

In case you haven’t checked around, most other studios charge as much as $250 for their 6 week sessions. The only way that I’m able to keep my prices so low & still ofer top quality everything is by running a super organized & efficient business (all those years in business taught me a few things ;>). Enter our Early Bird pricing on pole classes. If you sign up for your pole class at least 10 days before the new session starts (session, not class, so for next session that deadline is midnight 3/24) then you can get all 6 weeks for just $150. However, if you wait until after that then you will pay our full rate of $180. Your $75 non-refundable non-transferrable deposit is always all that is required to hold your spot in class. So, if you sign up early you’ll only pay a balance of $75 plus tax – if you wait until after 3/24 it’ll be $105 plus tax. Of course, you can also always pay in full at the time you sign up if that is easier for you. Got it? : )

By early next week we will have oodles of X-Poles at the studio ready for you to pick-up. If you took advantage of the February special come prepared to pick up your pole at class next week. You are gonna LOVE having a pole at home! So much fun…

So Intriguing… Yet Strangely Intimidating

I had such a nice experience last week - a lovely woman in her early 20’s stopped by with her mother for a tour and to sign up for pole classes (you know who you are… hello, girl!). As we got to talking I could see what a pure & bright cheeriness she has about her & found it beautiful that her mom had come along for the tour and to support her daughter in her excitement to try something so new yet so full of potential. To hear her say that she has been reading my newsletter and Kathy’s blog every week for over a year now but just finally found the courage to come try a class made me wonder how many other of you are in the same spot. I know this is somewhat old news (it was written ages ago!) – but if you have ever felt that way take a look at my little article called “Sensual Dance – so intruguing yet strangely intimidating” and see what you think. This week I vote we EMBRACE change. Change is a funny little monster – so good in retrospect yet so often painful and unnerving as you move through it. I, for one, would really like it if I only ever had to make one decision about things and could live in a completely secure life situation with no opportunity for disaster. That has SO absolutely NOT been the story of my life! I feel like I’ve lived 4 entirely different lives - and I’m only in my early 30’s! Whew…

As cliche as it might sound, I am actually grateful for all that I have experienced as it is what has made me, me. Or, one might argue, MiE. ;> I’m really not sure that I would be even half as happy if I had experienced that simple path we all think everyone else but us is experiencing. I’ve made mistakes (some serious doozies!), created successes (and plenty of failures), had very happy times, very miserable times, and yet the one thing that has been constant is, ironically enough, change.

If you think about it, isn’t it a terrific thing to know that wherever we are today is just the beginning – that we can create anything we want in life… through change? I’ve got to add one more quote to this effect:

“All my life there’s been one little rule that has worked wonderfully for me: If there’s any area of your life in which you are less than 50 percent happy, make a change.” ~ Mick Carlson, age 87

So, howz about you try looking at something in your life just a little different this week. Imagine that change would not only be bearable, but quite possibly the beginning of an entirely new and wonderful opportunity. New Session “Embrace” starts with Hula Hoop fun and new Fitness classes

Although I must admit… I’d be loving it even more if I was curled up cozy reading a book… ;> But dancing in it is never a bad second choice! It’s a fresh new session full of fun. X-Pole Special ends this week!

If you are thinking about taking advantage of this special you gotta act now! I don’t have plans to do another pole special until the holiday season late this year. You can always still get them at regular price. But, why not save some money instead? Technically, this special ends on Sunday 2/28. But, if you order before Friday at 10am I could have your pole at the studio for you as early as the middle of next week! Any stragglers that order over the weekend will get their pole sometime in mid-March. Order up, ladies! It’s now or not for a LOOONG time. : ) Oh – and in case you new Level 1 girls didn’t hear, anyone enrolled in the EMBRACE pole session gets an extra discount! Check our website for details & info. EMBRACE starts today! A few pole Level 1 spots left…

Fun, fun, fun! I love it when we start a new session. First, I’m so proud of each of the graduates from last session. You rock! And, so excited for the opportunities to grow that lie ahead for each newbie. Whether you are entering Level 7 or Level 1… we’ll challenge, inspire and delight you every week for the next 6 weeks and beyond.

We added yet ANOTHER Level 1 class, so as of right now we have 2-4 spots left in each of the following classes: Tuesday morning @ 10am, Weds @ 4pm, Thurs @ 5:30pm & Friday @ 5:30pm. All the other L1 classes are sold out. All of our intros for this week are also sold out already, but you can still get into an intro for next week.

This guy is one smart monk. I’ve found so many of his quotes that I like!

Have you ever been talking to someone and felt like they are listening but yet not hearing a word you are saying? Have you ever noticed the subtle disappointment you feel when you are excited to be with someone yet their habit of multitasking takes them away from really being with you? That is exactly what Mr Monk is referring to; making a conscious effort to be fully present.

I am so guilty of all of the above ~ I swear if I even LOOK at my keyboard when I’m on the phone with my brother he knows it! Yet, I am also a huge fan of being present (if you’ve ever taken a pole class you know how much I value it) and getting better and better at it all the time. Here’s a fun assignment: See if you can find one way this week that you can let go of all the tempting distractions (yes, you, facebook-blackberry-ipod) and simply enjoy and embrace the presence of someone special to you. I promise they’ll love it… and you will, too!

New Morning Pole Classes: EMBRACE Session starts next week!

You know the drill… our next session starts next week & if you miss this round your next chance to jump in on the fun won’t be until April. Our spots are getting very limited, so get yours asap. : ) We added a Tuesday morning 10am Level 1 pole class for you daytime ladies & have a Weds 4pm class & Fri 9am class available on waitlist since the others are about 95% full already. For all you ladies just getting into Intro classes thanks to the terrific special Groupon did recently, if you want to try our Level 1 6wk session make sure to get signed up quickly. But remember, your Groupon is good until August so you can always get into one of our upcoming sessions if you want to take some time.

I’m pretty sure you ladies got the idea, but during the FEMME session as we celebrated just how darn awesome it is to be a woman – I like to make sure and emphasize that is nothing negative toward men. We are simply fabulous and should rightfully enjoy every moment of that fact! I love how the quote above describes the beauty and harmony that can exist between men and women. That, in fact, is at the center of my passion for helping women gain confidence. Being happy & secure in who we are gives us so many healthy choices. And, whatever you choose, I wish you happiness. : )
