Speaking of which, get creative with that wrapping cuz whoever sends me a picture of the most creative wrapping of an Express MiE gift card is gonna win a $25 gift card for themselves! Submit by 12/24, winner will be awarded shortly thereafter.

Step 3: Your lucky giftee can choose to redeem the gift card anytime for the regular amount, but if they redeem it the week of Jan 8-14 a $30 gift card is worth $50, the $45 gift card is worth $75 and a $60 gift card is worth $100! Now that’s magic!

Merry Merry Monday! We have been busy planning again and that always means something new is coming! You may have seen signs of this shift and wondered what is up… here’s the scoop!

Goodbye & Hello to Goddess Body

As we were planning for 2012 we noticed an interesting situation… we are running out of space. (Who’d-a-thunk-it with 5500 sq ft!) We have our two pole studios and our two fitness studios but between all the different classes and courses we offer they are almost all booked up during our prime hours. So, we went behind the scenes to decide what to do (that meeting most certainly involved Hannah and Christie and spreadsheets and computers and some Jimmy Johns sandwiches, of course) ;> We decided to base our decisions off of what you, our fabulous clients, love most about Express MiE. While we have avid supporters of every part of what we offer (thank you and we hear you!) when it came to prioritizing for space it was clear that our focus needs to stay on what you know and love best about Express MiE: pole, dance fitness and dance u courses. You will see many of our accessory areas become a blend of First Thursday workshops and private lessons (instead of courses – ie: ballroom, etc – more on that over the coming months) but most significantly that means it’s time to say goodbye to Goddess Body Fit Camp. If you have a pre-paid membership – worry not. We have plenty of classes between now and the end of the year to get you through. We will no longer sell actual Goddess Body memberships, but if you want to do a drop-in Goddess Body class you can purchase those from now until they are gone at 50% off – so for just $12.50 (and again, if you bought classes in our specials you still got the best deal – I do aim to take care of everyone through changes). : ) If you take a look at our website you will see a new Goddess Body area – we will now only offer our personal training there. If you have become used to having our awesome personal trainer, Josefa, kicking your bootie while making you laugh then you can continue with her through private appointments which, conveniently enough, you can do on your own schedule. Through a blend of highly motivational personal training sessions and all levels of dance fitness classes we can create the perfect solution for just about anyone. Speaking of Club MiE Girl, we’ll make sure to keep some of those high intensity classes you love (Dance Sculpt, Zumba – BTW Kathy had her handsome baby and will be back teaching in just a week!) as well as bring back our GI Jane class for those of you who really love to work it. The new schedule really switches in January, but I wanted to make sure you have a heads up.

New stuff coming soon (classes, website)!

Like I mentioned last week, we have new Dance U courses coming in 2012. We also have another super exciting surprise class in the works for next spring that I am itching to tell you about but will have to refrain until we have a few more things in place. (This really is hard for me) ;> Last but not least, we are getting closer than ever to rolling out a new website. For those of you who have been following this newsletter for a while may remember me saying something about this… about a year ago. Ya, um, when you are a do-it-yourself girl sometimes things stack up too quickly! I did select my design concept way back when but am now only finally getting close to making it all a reality. I’m thinking it’s realistic to have it done by the end of the year. You are gonna love it. It’s full of all kinds of new stuff and much easier to use (we outgrew our current site a looong time ago!). Not the least of which is that I have created new branding for each area – that means more colors and cute logos! Yes, I admit it, these are the things that make me smile. ;> I love making pretty! ;> As we make all these transitions I just need a lil patience from you – being in process can be a bit messy but it’s all worth it in the end.

People are loving our new KuKuWaKa African Beats class so much that you will soon see it on the Dance U schedule with it’s own 6 week performance course! Both that class and Bollywood Babes will have cousins appearing in Dance U come January. Plus, the ever popular Burlesque~ette class is bursting at the seams so we’ll be offering it twice a week! These courses are so much fun and a steal at just $75… That’s MY kind of costuming… ;>

Did you know that every October there is a very special day called “Love Your Body Day”? It’s not that every day shouldn’t be a “Love Your Body Day,” but it never hurts to make sure that we are reminded sometimes! ;> Last year we celebrated by having the amazing Amber Krzys, founder of the bodyheart program, come out for a workshop. She is a lovely woman with a beautiful mission. Check out her blog online and look her up if you ever need a little more body-lovin’ inspiration!

New Opportunities to Play!

We just made a lil change that you pole girls are going to LOVE. Instead of requiring that you have completed Level 4 to join a Pole~ah~Tease Playground class… you can now do so after Level 3! What is Playground, you ask? Only one of the most super-cool-happy courses we have! ;> Each playground class consists of a simple but luxurious warm-up followed by our fun and fabulous ‘pole games’ where we help you remember, practice and solidify the tricks you already know. Then, it’s ALL about the dance time. Each week offers fun and thought provoking (or silliness-inducing) dance assignments that you will get to see and do as you sneakily get in a full body workout you will love. Playground can be taken as a break from your level journey (especially if you need some time to get more comfortable with all you have already learned) or in addition to your weekly pole class. If you are a Level 7 grad or if you are a dual enroll students (taking playground in addition to your regular weekly class) you get in for just $100 for the entire 6 week session! Hot dawg! ;> Jump in and try Playground next session ~ you can choose between the Monday at 7pm course or the Tuesday at 7pm course. Get ready to enjoy taking your dance to the next level.

I know it has been a bit since I’ve brought you some fun recommendations, but now that things are calming down a bit in my world I’m excited to get back to it. And, what better way to kick it off than with news that we have two amazing dance shows coming to town soon!

If you have met Hannah, the Express MiE instructor extraordinaire, you know that any show produced by her will be a fabulous combination of all things silly, sexy, strange and superfabulous. The Catchpenny Dandies “Futuristic” is no exception. Their show at the Duce on Nov 4th will include such acts as Star Wars pole dance, alien hula hooping and dancing raisins and a ticket only costs you $10. How can you resist? ;> You can get tickets online and even Like them over on Facebook.

Also, plan ahead to get the best seats for a beautiful and cultural dance experience that is coming to town in late January: Shen-Yun at the ASU Gammage Theater. This show is packed with amazing dance, vivid costumes and a whole lot of heart and soul. It’s kid friendly (even teaching healthy morals through its storylines) and will help you fall in love with the beauty at the core of their culture. Check it out online – the pics & video will amaze you! It’s a great example of how dance can communicate so much.

Merry Merry Monday! We are in the middle of a couple very exciting weekends over here at Express MiE. We just trained a batch of ladies this past weekend who will be taking Pole~ah~Tease to more locations and we’ll be training even more this coming weekend! Let me tell you, these ladies are amazing and fun and ready to rock and roll as Pole~ah~Tease instructors. Watch out Omaha, Nebraska, get ready Bismarck, North Dakota, hold on to your britches Camarillo, California and prepare yourselves, Canooks… there is a lot of fun to be had and we have a fabulous batch of women ready to bring it to you in early 2012! Our trainings are an intense (but oh-so-fun!) bootcamp cuz I make sure that each instructor is ready to bring you the same awesome experience you have come to know and love at Express MiE. It’s actually looking like I’m going to add more training dates for 2012 (April or May) so for the next few months I’m accepting more applicants who want to own their own pole dance studio. I train my Sister Studio owners in everything (and I mean everything) they need from both a curriculum and business perspective to be uber successful. If a job where you work about 20 hours a week, much from home, make a great income and spend the hours you do work hanging out teaching awesome women to feel sexy and confident sounds good to you then you should check out this opportunity. It’s almost that time again! If you are a pole girl I suspect that before you even hear that first bar of Holiday music you’ll be itching to plan a fun present for yourself. To help make it as affordable as possible for you to set up your own north Pole fun this year we have a pole sale coming right up! In order to get the best price on the sale you have to be a signed up for the CELEBRATE session (which starts Nov 13th – check out the schedule online). Our holiday pole sale runs Nov 14-28 this year and your pole will arrive at the studio for pick-up on December 6th. Feel free to forward this e-mail to a special someone (Santas helper!) and make sure to note whether you have been naughty or nice this year when putting in your request.
